1. Walking in the Light of God's Glory

To walk in the Truth is to walk in the Light of God's Glory

1 John reminds us. That Light is righteousness, and sin is darkness. To live a sinful life and at the same time claim to have fellowship with God is to live lie, darkness and light is incompatible. (See 1John 1:16)

That fellowship can only be enjoyed as a man walks in the Light as God is in the Light.  Man cannot live outside of God's ordained laws; otherwise Calvary would be of no consequence. Man must submit to God's holiness.

There is much debate in this enlightened age we are living in, that the Church should adapt to meet the ever changing environment, that the Church should be tolerant to society and embrace its shortcomings, to show love.  But God's Love is "Divine Love" based on His holiness and righteousness anything less can not be compromised, sin is sin

The Bible teaches that we have been severed from the old life, and have been grafted into God's eternal godhead into His eternal purposes.

We have been grafted into the true vine, which our attributes are that, of the Father, the Spirit of God dwells in us.  (see John Ch.15)

In gardening terms, grafting is a method whereby specially selected young stock is joined to an existing stock by grafting, it will have no roots of its own but will take its strength from the parent plant. The method of grafting is to insert a cut in V shape pattern on the parent stem, the new stock is then inserted tightly into the groove, and it is then tightly wrapped in raffia to prevent dying out.

The believer through Calvary is grafted into God; he is bound in God's righteousness,    Read John 17  verse 22

These are the attributes that are found in a believer exhibiting the "Fruit of the Spirit"  The moral rule of life within the believer, is God Himself as revealed in Christ and in the Scripture,.

To walk in the Light is to walk in obedience to Christ's commands and the inspired Word of Scripture.

2.     Walking in the Truth of His Holiness

Any resemblance of love which ignores truth, or accommodates itself to that which is not true, or is not according to God's laws and commandments is not love.

In our so-called modern society such action today would be greeted with a torrent of condemnation, as being un Christian bigoted, narrow, lacking love.

In  2 John v5  we are exhorted to "love one another".

But that love is based on, and is in relation to, God's commandments.

Psalm 86:11 reminds us

Teach me Thy way O LORD; I will walk in  thy truth, unite my heart to fear thy name.

Psalm 26:3 says

For thy loving kindness is before mine eyes and I have walked in thy truth  (Enoch  Gen. 5:22)  (Noah Gen 6:9)

The Holy Spirit fills the heart with the love of God (Rom 5:5) He is the Spirit of truth and His office is to glorify Christ. It is impossible therefore; that a love, which condones teaching that, dishonours Christ or the Word can e of the Holy Sprit.  Christian love is, and must be based upon truth (v1) and is exercised in the interests of truth.

The Holy Spirit is the anointing, which  abides in the believer and teaches him "all things" guiding him unto all truth (John 16:13)

The fruit of abiding is the practice of righteousness, which gives evidence of one's relationship to, and fellowship with the Righteous One Christ.

The Christian is known, or should be known their character it’s a divine character which traces itself back to the Father.

Abiding in Christ we are continually filled with the Spirit of God, its not a one  off experience but a continual abiding. It’s the fruit of righteousness.

3.   Walking in Love.

It is only in the realm of truth and love, that grace mercy and peace can be enjoyed. They who love in the truth also love because of the truth.

The nature of the Gospel is love  John ch3.16

"God so loved the World that he gave his one and only Son

It is the nature of its Author. The standard of truth is, therefore, The Holy Scriptures as the Word  or Commandments of God.

What does not accept the inspiration and authority of the Scriptures of Truth is not Christian love. (See v6)

These fundamental principles are of vital importance, especially in this present age when Scriptural creed is denounced as being opposed to religious liberty and not in keeping with our enlightened age.

And this is love, that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

But it is a basic fact that   Character is moulded by belief

Jude reminds us in V3.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the Common Salvation, it was needful for me to write unto and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

There can never be any middle ground notice the verses in v10-11

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work.

Those who really possess this Divine nature love because they are loved.  That Divine love was perfectly manifested at Calvary, and it's at Calvary that learns what love is   (See 1John 4:10)

This is love; not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins

It is a new nature, a realm outside of natural human affection,  A realm of Divine love, of fellowship with God and with all who know Him.
