Man Made in the Image of God
The Bible informs us that we were made in the image and likeness of God. This image is found chiefly in the fact, that man possesses the elements of personality, and it is personal, rational, and moral. Man had intuitive knowledge and real government over the works of God’s hand See Hebrews 2:7
But man wanted to be in control of his own destiny, and through his faulty reasoning, to live out his life according to his own supposed righteousness. He makes the faulty assumption that he has the power in his own ability to rule his life and influence his maker. The vanity and the weariness of man leads him down the spiraling descent morally, because of man's inability to straighten what has been made crooked . Man without God in his life, is living a life which is defective
What the Lord Jesus Christ did at Calvary was to bring the sinner to God through the shed blood of Calvary. He became the ultimate Sacrifice for sin. For the Bible tells us that all have sinned and come short of God’s standard and as sinners are in need of a Savior.
What was is the Gospel message
God has appointed fixed laws for the well being of Man: He has set boundaries where man may dwell, He has given him the consciousness of another life
There is within each of us the desire to worship but this worship needs to be acceptable with God.
A) Man outside of God will ever be a restless creature,
Man outside of God is a restless creature ever trying to satisfy his needs, and yet never being satisfied always striving to fill the void that exists in him. That void is a life without God. Man was made to worship, he is a worshipping being, he only finds true satisfaction when he surrenders his own kingdom for the kingdom of God and lives under God’s ordinances.
B) We cannot live fulfilled lives outside the bounds that God has set
God has set divine boundaries, but man in his fallen state strives to push those boundaries further and further towards his own ideals. We live in a fallen world and we live as fallen sinners.and man through his best efforts in incapable of living righteous lives Jesus Christ paid the price for sin although he Himself was sinless, yet for our good, He bore our sin to Calvary. It was God’s free gift for humanity.
C) The Punishment for sin
The punishment that was placed on Jesus Christ and which took him to the cross should have been reserved for humanity who was bound by sin. being satisfied always striving to fill the void that exists in him. That void is a life without God. Man was made to worship, he is a worshipping being, he only finds true satisfaction when he surrenders his own kingdom for the kingdom of God and lives under God’s ordinances.
D) Living Fulfilled Lives
We cannot live fulfilled lives outside the bounds that God has set for us. We live in a fallen world and we live as fallen sinners. Jesus Christ paid the price for sin although he Himself was sinless, yet for our good, He bore our sin to Calvary. It was God’s free gift for humanity. The punishment that was placed on Jesus Christ and which took him to the cross should have been reserved for humanity who was bound by sin.
God’s Great love gift to the world
Because of God’s great love towards us, He has made a way in which we may be not only being found blameless; but also being made a child of God.
the Gospel of John reminds us
-For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. ( John 3.16 )
The choice to be made
The above verse demands choice to be made, a gift can be accepted or rejected, but to reject God’s gift is to reject eternal life and to place oneself in condemnation. It will not be God who condemns but man himself, for v 18 reminds us
He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
Why did Jesus Come come to earth as a Man -
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son,
God’s Supreme Revelation
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son,
whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power,
when He had by Himself[a] purged our[b] sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Heb 1:1-4 (NKJV)
